Our history

The patchworkers of Mount Eliza, Victoria, first came together in 1983. Two ladies decided to form a Patchwork group so an advertisement was placed in the local Leader newspaper.
Interested crafters were invited to an introductory meeting at St James The Less Church. It drew a positive response and the fledgling group soon grew to 18; the next decade passed swiftly and by 1993 the 31 member group became incorporated.
It was decided that M.P.P.I. would hold its first meeting on 2nd Monday in February 1993 at the Mt. Eliza Community Centre. There have been several moves to larger venues over the years as the membership continues to grow. M.P.P.I. now has approximately 150 members.
